Park Hill School District Student Earns STEM Honors

Nakiya Woodley, who will be a senior at Park Hill South High School in the fall, earned the Missouri-Kansas Regional 2021 Dean’s List Finalist honors for her work with the Electro-Magnetic Panthers robotics team. She is one of five regional finalists for the award, which is the highest individual accomplishment for the FIRST Robotics Competition. Dean Kamen, who invented the Segway and founded FIRST, sponsors the award.
 
Woodley will compete later this summer for the Championship Dean’s List Award. KC STEM Alliance also recognized her for her achievements, and she will be a panelist during their “Closing the Racial Gap in STEM” series.
 
Daniel Henson is the head robotics coach and Jennifer Schoenfeldt is the assistant coach.
