Concepts from May 2016

Addressing limited space at our high schools was part of the long-range facilities plan the district developed over the last three years, using student, staff and community feedback.

Our high school enrollment is growing, and we will need to address our lack of space as we continue to grow.

A committee of high school educators, parents, students and community members reviewed our facility limits, our educational needs and the latest research in this area to develop options for the future of our high schools. They met with focus groups of students, staff and parents to help develop their ideas.

They’ve developed three options for the future of our high schools.

The public got the opportunity to weigh in on the three concepts through an online survey, focus groups and four public meetings. The Board reviewed all the public feedback in June.

Next, we will use the feedback to develop a proposal to the Board. The public will get another chance to give feedback on this proposal in the fall.
