Park Hill South Student Wins Horatio Alger Scholarship Award

Hassan won the award for her dedication and integrity throughout her scholastic career. She maintained a 3.7 GPA while also serving on the Student Council, volunteering at the Truman Medical Center and acting as president of the Muslim Students and Allies club, which she founded. Along with the award, the Horatio Alger Association will grant her up to $10,000 to be put toward post-secondary education.

While attending Park Hill South, Hassan completed two medical internships through the Park Hill Aspiring Medical Professionals program. She wants to work as a nurse once she completes the required schooling.

Hassan was one of only 10 winners from Missouri that the Horatio Alger Association honored for their commitment to their education and being an active member of their community.
