This is the image for the news article titled District Shares Information on Filing for Board of EducationWe will accept declarations of candidacy for any person interested in running for a position on the Board of Education in the April 7, 2020 election.

Persons interested may file with the secretary of the Board of Education at the district office, 7703 NW Barry Road. There are three positions available with three-year terms, which are currently held by Janice Bolin, Bart Klein and Scott Monsees.

Filing will begin on Dec. 24, 2019 at 8 a.m. and will end at 9 a.m. on Dec. 24, 2019. Filing will continue Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. during the district’s business hours. Filing will end on Jan. 21, 2020 at 5 p.m. The district’s offices will be closed Dec. 25, 26, 27, 30, 31 and Jan. 1, and therefore will not be accepting candidate filings on those dates. Filing will not occur on days that the district’s offices are closed due to inclement weather.

When to file
Filing opens Dec. 24, 2019 at 8 a.m. and closes on Jan. 21, 2020 at 5 p.m.

Please note that the district office will not be accepting candidate filings during the dates or days listed below:  
  • Dec. 24, 2019 after 9 a.m.
  • Dec. 25, 2019 through Jan. 1, 2020 (Winter Break)
  • Saturdays and Sundays
  • Any date/day the district office closes due to inclement weather
On Dec. 24, 2019 the district shall clearly designate where candidates shall form a line to file for office and determine the order of such filings. Candidates filing on the last day (Jan. 21, 2020) should arrive by 4:30 p.m. to make sure the filing process is completed by the 5 p.m. deadline. The clock cannot be held. Required documents must be checked and the declaration of candidacy, including signature, must be completed by 5 p.m.  

Placement on the ballot
Order of filing will determine the placement on the ballot. This is in accordance with Board Policy BBB-School Board Elections and Section 115.395.2, RSMo.
