Missouri Will Not Release Certain Tests' Group Scores
This is the image for the news article titled Missouri Will Not Release Certain Tests' Group ScoresThis week the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) announced a problem with some of the state test results.

DESE brought in a team of experts, which determined that the end-of-course exams, or EOCs, for English II and Algebra I are valid for individual students, but the overall group scores cannot be compared to the results from other years. As a result, DESE decided not to release the statewide results for these tests and plans to hold the testing company accountable for failing to provide usable data.

Here in Park Hill, we plan to work with DESE to minimize any effects on our students. For example, since we use this data for things like our college-and-career-readiness index, we will need to find solutions to the problem of losing these results.

Fortunately, we use many measures to assess how our students are learning. Through assessments like observations, grades and finals, we still have a good picture of our students’ progress so we can help them continue to grow.

We will continue to work closely with DESE to follow this issue and help them solve this problem.
