Park Hill High School senior Nick Hibbeler is a 2015 Foot Locker Scholar Athlete. Hibbeler is one of twenty
high school students named across the country.
Hibbeler battled testicular cancer in 2013, and he continued to play soccer through the treatments. He started an educational program to convince other young men to check themselves for testicular cancer.
He was a finalist in the USA Today’s Most Inspirational High School Athlete Contest, but he decided to give up his spot in the contest to give it to a terminally ill student athlete
from Washington. He also received the 2015 Kansas City Sports Commission Sprint Community Champion Award.
Foot Locker Scholar Athletes share key qualities such as good sportsmanship, strong moral character, commitment to the community, leadership, good grades and involvement in sports.
