Two seniors from Park Hill High School and Park Hill South High School earned first and second place in the KCI Rotary Club’s Four-Way Test Scholarship Speech Contest.

Jacob McFee from PHHS placed first, earning a $1,000 scholarship, and Emma Patterson from Park Hill South placed second, earning a $500 scholarship.

Both wrote a four- to five-minute essay on the contest’s theme, “What the Rotary 4-Way Test Means to Me.”

The test asks:
  1. Is it the truth?
  2. Is it fair to all concerned?
  3. Will it build goodwill and better friendships?
  4. Will it be beneficial to all concerned?

The program encourages students to learn more about the test’s ethical and moral lessons.
