Congress Eighth Grader Named a Top Youth Volunteer in Missouri
This is the image for the news article titled Congress Eighth Grader Named a Top Youth Volunteer in MissouriPark Hill School District eighth grader Blake Harris’ volunteerism earned him one of Missouri’s two 2015 Prudential Spirit of Community Awards, and it qualified him as a candidate to be one of America’s Top Youth Volunteers of 2015.

Harris’ school, Congress Middle School, nominated him for his Pass It On project, in which he performs acts of kindness for people who need a helping hand, including running errands for the elderly, mowing lawns for neighbors, working at food banks, reading to children with special needs, visiting the sick and lonely, and purchasing food to provide a Thanksgiving dinner for a family in need.

Harris will receive $1,000, a silver medallion and a trip to Washington, D.C. in May, where he will be recognized along with other state honorees.
