Eighth Grader Wins District Spelling Bee, Advances to National Bee
This is the image for the news article titled Eighth Grader Wins District Spelling Bee, Advances to National BeeCongress Middle School eighth grader Elizabeth Tittrington won the Park Hill School District Spelling Bee and will now advance to the Scripps National Spelling Bee in Maryland, which runs from May 28-June 3.

Lakeview Middle School eighth grader Allyson Scribner took second place at the district bee, and Graden Elementary fifth grader Peyton Shaw placed third.

The other top winners were Rouida Siddiqui, sixth grade, Plaza Middle School; Jessica Yu, fifth grade, Chinn Elementary; Hannah Wenzel, fifth grade, English Landing Elementary; Cooper Mathisen, eighth grade, Lakeview; Laney Toigo, sixth grade, Plaza; Emmalyn Golden, eighth grade, Congress; and Beau Anderson, seventh grade, Congress.

Students in fifth through eighth grades were invited to take a computerized spelling test. The top 60 from the computerized exam advanced to the district spelling bee. The top 10 finishers earned medals, and the top three received trophies.
