They accepted the award Feb. 9 at a conference hosted by the Association for Middle Level Education and the Missouri Middle School Association.

The honorees from Team Spartans are special education teachers Anna Bejcek and Steven Chrostowski and seventh-grade teachers Dr. Linda Davidson, Ashley Evers, Ann Jacob, Dr. Scott Marsh and Deb Still. The conference committee considered how the teachers’ collaboration has recognized and ensured students’ success, and it evaluated the educational innovations produced through their teamwork.

The team makes its decisions by asking the question, “Is it good for kids?” The Spartans work to understand teachers’ and students’ working styles, strengthen skills for students who are struggling with reading and math, and build relationships with each student.
