Swimmers from around the district earned state championship titles, including Park Hill High School junior Marcin Glebocki, who took first in the 50-meter freestyle, and senior Barry Chang, sophomore Danny Jones, junior Jered Weger and Glebocki, who took first as a team in the 200-meter freestyle relay. PHHS swim coach Karl Haley received the Missouri Coach of the Year award.
In addition to these state champs, several swimmers from both high schools took all-state honors. From Park Hill South, those students were senior Ian Morgan, sophomore Tyler Dunn, senior Luke Lanning and senior Travis Colpitts. From PHHS, the all-state swimmers were Weger, Chang, Glebocki and sophomore Danny Jones.
Park Hill South cross country runners freshman Emma Roth and senior Tucker Melles earned all-state honors by finishing in the top 25 at their recent state competition.
Park Hill South softball player Kylie DeClue, junior, received All-State second team honors, and South tennis player Adele Royle, senior, also earned all-state honors by placing eighth at state.
