Julie Bates, who is a diagnostic consultant and administrative intern at the Gerner Family Early Education Center in the Park Hill School District, received the YMCA of Greater Kansas City’s Spirit of Service award for her work with Park Hill YMCA Head Start program.
Bates earned this award for her work with referring families in need to the Head Start program and supporting staff.
“Her positive attitude encourages the Head Start staff,” said Maria Purtle, the Head Start center manager. “We have been truly blessed by Julie's dedication and support of early education.”
The Spirit of Service award recognizes people who help the YMCA of Greater Kansas City strengthen the foundation of our community. The Y will recognize Bates at a Spirit of Service event on Nov. 12 at Starlight Theatre.
